How To Handle A Mice Problem In Your Home

Juanita Douglas

Mice are very curious pests. They can get into very small holes or cracks and make their way into any part of your home. If you have a problem with a mouse in your home, there's a good chance that your mouse is actually mice and you most likely have more than one pest problem as well. If you suspect you have an issue with mice in your home, there are a few things you should know about how to handle this type of pest problem. Read on for helpful information.

1. Don't Try To Catch Them With Your Bare Hands

Don't attempt to catch these pests alive with your bare hands. You may actually be able to do this, but it isn't a good idea, as the mice can carry diseases. If you are bitten by a mouse, you may need to get a Tetanus shot. Get rid of the mice by setting traps. If you want to keep the mice alive, you can set live traps, but don't try to handle the mice with your bare hands at all.

2. Don't Feed Them Any Longer

These pests are feeding off on something in your home. You need to figure out what it is they are eating and put the food away. Keep them away from the food source by putting your pantry food into air-tight containers. If the mice are feed off of the crumbs on your counters or off of grease on your stovetop, you should clean these areas to prevent feeding them any longer. If you don't get rid of their food source, you'll continue to have a mice problem. They'll continue to come in wherever they are getting food. Clean your kitchen and other areas where you eat or prepare food. Sweep up crumbs, empty your kitchen sink drain of food particles, and put all of your food away into sealed containers.

3. Call A Pest Control Company

Contact a pest control company for help with your mice problem. If you aren't sure how to handle the issue you have in your home, leave it to the professionals. You may actually have more than just a mouse problem, and if this is the case, you need a professional to help you get rid of that pest problem as well.

If you have mice in your home, set traps and never attempt to handle live mice with your bare hands. If you are in over your head with a pest problem, call in the pros to help you.

About Me
Flower Planting 101: Simplifying Your Planting Maps

One of the things that I always loved about spring as a kid was watching all of the flowers my mother planted suddenly come up from the ground and then bloom into vibrant, beautiful colors. When I bought my own house, one of the first things I wanted to do was plant flowers. What I didn't realize was how hard it could be to figure out what to plant where. From the sun demand to the companion planting guides, it was complicated. I created this site to help others just like me create the flower gardens they always wanted without the struggles that I faced.
